Breville JE98XL Juicer Review

Juice Fountain Plus 850-Watt Juice Extractor

Nobody enjoys cutting fruit and vegetables into small pieces first thing in the morning, before throwing them into a noisy juicer and waiting for what seems like an eternity to get little more than a trickle of juice.

Or that feeling of re-discovering the dust-covered old juicer taking up space at the back of the kitchen cupboard, destined for the next yard sale. We’ve all been there.

For most people, the top priority when it comes to choosing a juicer is finding a product that can function quickly and easily. Here’s why the Breville JE98XL juicer can do just that, and why it should never experience those ‘back-of-the-cupboard blues.’

  • JuicerLand Ratings For The Breville BJE510XL

    User Friendliness – 5/5
The Breville JE98XL has been designed with ease of use in mind. As a centrifugal juicer, the JE98XL can process ingredients far more quickly than many masticating juicers. The machine’s 3-inch wide feed chute allows most fruits and vegetables to inserted into the machine whole, reducing the need for extra peeling and cutting. The product also has some nice ergonomic features, such as integrated handles on the pulp collector, wrap around cord storage, and a froth separator litter jug.

    Cleaning – 5/5
With a long reputation of manufacturing high-quality kitchen appliances, it’s no surprise that Breville has designed this product to be robust and easy to operate and clean. As nearly all of the Breville JE98XL’s components are dishwasher safe, cleaning is a quick and hassle-free experience.

    Quality of Juice – 5/5
As a value-for-money centrifugal juicer, the quality of juice produced by this machine may not be as high as you’d expect from a masticating juicer. However, the Nutri Disc with stainless steel blades and filters, along with a patented feed system removes pulp efficiently and ensures that the juice created by the JE98XL isn’t disappointing.

    Performance – 5/5
Probably the biggest selling point of this juicer is the lightening-fast speed at which it operates. Although perhaps not extracting quite as much juice as a masticating juicer, the machine compensates for this with its speed of operation. In some instances, the Breville JE98XL can reduce the juicing time to just half of that required by a masticating juicer. In addition to this, this centrifugal juicer also creates very little heat compared to masticating juicers, which can destroy valuable nutrients.

With a choice of two operating speeds of 6,500RPM and 12,000RPM, the 850-Watt motor supplied with this juicer is more than adequate for the task, and it can easily juice hard and soft fruits and vegetables alike. However, although Breville has manufactured the base of the juicer from a high-quality polymer material, this still isn’t quite sufficient to reduce all of the vibration created by the motor.

    Noise – 5/5
As with most juicers, the JE98XL does create some noise. Like any juicer, the noise level will vary depending upon the hardness of the item you’re trying to juice and the speed at which the machine is operating. However, the noise created by the JE98XL isn’t massively outside of what you would expect to find in a juicer with an 850-Watt motor, and it certainly isn’t painfully uncomfortable.

    Juice Yield – 5/5
One of the few drawbacks of this machine is that it’s efficiency isn’t quite as good as many of the masticating juicers that are available. As with any centrifugal juicer, an element of efficiency is sacrificed for increased operating speed. However, although this machine does create a slightly soggy pulp residue, it still compares very well to some of the more expensive masticating juicers.
